Bossard got her start in the commercial seafood industry in 1999. In that year, she worked as a fisherman on Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut boat. It was transformed into a fish tender. Bossard and Aritan have been married since 1993 and are working together to stake their claim to their industry. They're both supporters of conservatism and profitable renewable seafood resource management. In 2007, she became a mother of two young children Bella aged 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia and opened an online direct market wholesale distributor of seafood named Otolith. Otolith's name is a loving memory of Bossard's deep understanding of the biology of fish and her husband's vast connections to the industry of seafood.
